First of all, congratulations. All your hard work has finally paid off. So first of all you need to sit back, relax and celebrate it. You have put in efforts and sacrificed your personal time for this – it paid off finally.

Once you submit your exam, the results are immediately shown as PASS, followed by an optional survey.

Earlier, the survey used to appear first and then the results.

The centre where you gave the exam, will escort you outside and give you a print copy of your result. Keep this with yousicne it is the ONLY proof that you have cleared the exam for the time being as there may be some technical glitch that may cause a loss of your record. The probability is negligible but just in case.

Hurray! You are immediately a PMP Certified Project Manager and you can use the registered trademark PMP behind your name everywhere – LinkedIn, resume etc

What are the next steps:

First of all, you should request PMI to send you your FREE PMP Lapel Pin. This pin is available free of cost and is exclusively given to those who had cleared the PMP exam.

Second, you need to wait for up to 5 man days (usually not more than 2 days) to see your name updated in the PMI directory of credentials

Third, in the next 6 to 8 weeks, you will receive a post mail from PMI that will include

  • Your PMP Certificate
  • Congratulatory letter
  • Details on maintaining the PMP credentials (basic PDU requirements and further info)

Most Important

Since, PMI endorses continuous learning, hence in order to maintain your PMP you need to have 60 PDUs accumulated every 3 years. You can earn most of them for free.

It is much easier than its thought, right? Check out this article for complete information on PDUs and how to achieve them for free.
